Management of the Soulful Expression

"A Soul Sister Speaks from Exile" is the latest CD produced on The Soulful Expression. It's a live, compilation Double CD which features Aisha's tours of the England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales as well as some studio recordings. The first CD comes alive though the wonders of several digital recordings which capture Aisha's singing and playing live in performance, as well as the vibe of the crowds in several countries! The second CD (recorded in Glasgow in the studio) features a special song called "The Awakening" written and produced by Aisha. It includes voices of people from the African Diaspora as well as Palestine speaking about their views on the awakening of people's freedom in the world. On this CD Aisha also performs such classics as "Since I Fell for You" & "Round Midnight".

And yes...as usual this CD, like all CDs on The Soulful Expression, is a recording without the use of loops, sequencers and keyboard samples!!! Although some tracks contain a drum machine, all vocals and piano parts are played and sung by musicians and singers note for note in the studio or live in performance! A drum machine is only used because we are in exile and it is difficult to hire musicians who have a feel for the music. Thus to insure the quality of the recording a drum machine is sometimes used, but never, loops, samples and sequencers!

A double live solo CD (vocals & grand piano) which captures a live solo performance with vocals while playing the grand piano at the same space in Umeå, Sweden where the Swedish Symphony Orchestra records (CD 1). CD 2 is recorded live at a jammed-packed Eko Cafeet in Uppsala Sweden. Features a 3 minute standing ovation!
