As adults we usually get on our youth about being responsible, taking
responsibility etc. Now sometimes we use words but really do not know the
meaning of the words that we use on a daily bases. So here is a reminder for
those of us who forgot what the word RESPONSIBILITY means.
Webster's dictionary defines Responsibility as:
1. expected to account: we as a people are expected to account for the direction
of us as a people.
2. deserving credit or blame: We need to take credit for the things that we do,
do but also take the blame for the things that we don't do
3. trustworthy; reliable: We need to learn how to trust each other and rely on
each other.
4. involving obligations or duties: We need to raise ourselves from the rest of
society. Learning and teaching and applying all methods that have to do with
finances from savings to investing and being credit worthy by paying all bills
on time also teach our children the proper order of responsibility.
a) God – worshiping, relying on, trusting
b) Self- liking yourself treating others like you want to be treated, learning
how to say no to things that may be harmful to you, establishing a solid
foundation for yourself, before getting involved in a intimate relationship!
c) Family- Loving, Nurturing, encouraging, Supporting
d) Neighbor- Respecting, being friendly, helping in need
e) Community- Church, Block club, Schools (P.T.A) meetings, neighbor hood watch.
f) Black nation- Standing guard supporting as many Black Owned Business as
possible using every resource to help up lift our people also, to hold our black
organizations accountable for representing us as a people.
g) Country- In reality only in self defense should we serve our country, not
because of greed.
h) Motherland- after we really change things around for us as a people here then
we can utilize all of our resources to help up lift our African Brothers and
sisters.
5. able to tell right from wrong: Is it right or wrong to stand up for justice
and truth and fairness in this society.
6. able to think and act reasonably: We need to stop fooling ourselves, our
children are killing each other, they are getting this behavior from some where
how you react they react how you handle
things they handle things. Think about It!
I know that you may wonder who is this guy to give others advice. The truth of
the manner is I am just a brother trying to figure it out just like the rest of
us.
PEACE AND PROSPERITY!!!!
