In 1981 he and Terry Jones, ex-art director of Vogue UK, founded the magazine I-D (instant design). For ten years Fiorucci’s style was immortalized by Oliviero Toscani, Antonio Lopez and Roberto Carra. He is popular with vip and young talent: Madonna created her first look in Fiorucci’s Los Angeles store, where her brother works. In 1984 the graffiti fad hit, and Keith Haring worked 24 hours non-stop to transform the milanese store with his art. 25 million packs of Fiorucci cards were sold, manufactured by panini: pin-ups, robots, flying saucers, angels, hearts...fiorucci and packaging: the importance of labels, pendants, backs of pockets, shopping bags. From 1987 to 1989 Fiorucci manufactured Jean Paul Gauthier’s and Vivienne Westwood’s lines. In 1993 he opened the Fiorucci department store in Piazza San Babila in Milan: 1600 sq. meters on three levels . (before we started designboom, we designed and realized a few of the first corners of the new shop in shop-concept), 7000 customers per day (double that during christmas and valentine’s day). In 1995 he stopped traffic with his "live" windows set up to launch the phenomenal "wonderbra", produced by playtex. In 1999 he hosted Mtv at his offices for filming live from Piazza San Babila Mariah Carey, Geri Halliwell, Acqua... Fiorucci, the king of the t-shirt or t-art (10 million items sold in ten years), but also Fiorucci the animal lover: he collects funds for baby orphan seals through t-shirt sales, he created bird watching t-shirts, he organizes parties to raise donations for the WWF, and created t-shirts for cancer research associations.Because fiorucci loves ecology, he loves plastic...
