Ancanar is
the name of a new Movie which is being developed by Elemental
Films and Light Pirate Pictures with director Sam. R. Balcomb
& producer Raiya Corsiglia. Ancanar is an original story written
by director Sam. R. Balcomb and is set in the world created by
J.R.R. Tolkien. Shooting started on October 7th, 2000.
It is about
Ancanar, a man who is the sole heir to the Rammoth Valley and
its fortunes. His father, Aglanar has fallen ill. His adopted
brother, Curugon is, according to many a more suitable leader.
Ancanar must search the Elven city where he hopes to find the
cure for his father's disease.
Main
characters:
Aglanar: Son of Faledin, he was most well known for increasing
the trade of the Valley by building the Fords across the great
west river. But in his later years, after the building of the
Fords, the Elves were estranged from the Valley and shunned the
Rammoth people. His only child was Ancanar, whose mother Alanae
died after his birth.
Ancanar: Not much is known of the child of Aglanar, for the
lore of the Valley was lost ere his coming to manhood. It is rumoured
that the Rammoth fell into evil ways in the time when Ancanar
would wander far from the homestead, to his father's dismay.
Curugon: In the morning was heard the crushing of leaves under
heavy foot, the steps coming to a loud crash somewhere at the
house’s porch. On the steps of the house laid a young man, careworn
and covered with scrapes, seemingly asleep from weariness. Soon
he was revived and at full health again, and he named himself
Curugon, a wayward traveler from a western region. No more would
he say of his past, but many noted that he must have come through
considerable peril to reach the Rammoth Valley.
Ancanar is
currently (Sept 2002) in post-production. A trailer can be downloaded
