Alan
Lee
(1947 - ) is an English illustrator, who is most known for
the illustrations in the Centennial edition of Lord of the
Rings. He is also the illustrator of the pictures of the illustrated
version of the Hobbit.
Alan Lee
was asked by Peter Jackson to become lead concept art designer
of New Line cinema's movie trilogy: The Lord of the Rings.
He accepted this job and teamed up with John Howe to fullfill
this task.
