I guess before I begin, let me state that this could be considered sort of an exhibitionist journal. Here I'll post my inner most thoughts for the world to see. Hmmm...on the second thought, I don't know if I would broadcast everything that's on my mind...but I suppose here I can rant and rave about certain things...as if anyone actually cared. Hey, what the hell; I've done a lot worst.
Basically I'm too cheap to pay for space on Live Journal.com, or any of those journal sites. Jeez, it's not like I'm one of these whiny Goths who just howls about how depressed they are am so don't worry.
About the band already...I told you I was going promote this band left to right; HA!
We set out to write a song, and ended up with nearly two completed tunes! Out of the two, the song "Drinkin' With Crispin Glover" rocks. I told you this band was going to be quirky.
This will be brief; I'm forming a band with two friends of mine, Jenny and Tim. I'm kinda excited, actually. Nothing's set in stone yet, but so far we all seem to be on the same wave length as far as ideals go. I'll be doing keyboards, Tim vocals, Jenny drums. I think this will be a good thing. It's hard describe what kind of band we will be as of yet. So far it's like a cross between early B-52s mixed with some early 80s New Wave quirkiness along with some punk/post-punk angles, plus a bit of some performance art ideals. It's be very D.I.Y. Well, that's how I invisioned it anyway. We had our first band meeting last week and it went over pretty well. The three of us seem to share the same sense of humor. Tim and Jenny are really serious about this project, so I'm glad. Too many people say they want to form a band, blah, blah, blah, but never seem to get thier asses off the couch, if you know what I mean. My main goal with this at the moment is to play live. Oh, and we're looking for a bass and guitar player as well...so if you live in the NYC area you know what to do; contact me via email and I'll get back to you ASAP, ok?
So be prepared when we start playing live...I'll going to be plugging the band and any shows we'll be doing here on my site. Look out for future updates!
Alright, I'm not going to lie to you...in the past few months I've been depressed. Severly depressed. There are a number of reasons, but since this is not one of those dreadful so-called reality shows, I will NOT reveal the reasons why. (Aka, none of your damn biz!) However, I've come to realize that a) the majority of people are bascially f**ked up, b) The people that have f**ked you over don't even care how you are doing, 'cause they bascially f**ked you over...they're not thinking of you, so why should you harp on what they did to you? (Someone pointed ths out to me recently, and I have to admit, this person was right) Living and looking well is the best revenge, and c) There's nothing wrong with asking for help, but ultimely, no one can pull you out of the drolldums except for yourself.
Now, the thrid point raised is the hardest of them all. Easier said than done, but it can be done. It's just a matter of how you're going to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and make yourself happy. I'm still struggling with this, but I'm taking this day by day.
Today I was in a local CVS drugstore and I spotted this portable sewing machine for sale. It was nearby the isle where they were displaying the Valentine Day items. (Damn-the holiday season is barley over and ALREADY stores are breaking out stuff for Valentine's Day! We're barely entered January! Hmmm, the heart shaped jelly candles don't even smell that nice...eck.) Now, I've been talking about making my own clothes and whatever for soooooo long. I saw the exact same item in another completing drug store chain; over there it was something like what, $39.99, and here in this CVS I saw it for $19.99...I figured, f**k it. (Shrugs) So I brought it.
I studied the package as I traveled home...I don't I've done too bad. It said on the box that it can handle leather as well as lace. If I get bored then at least I'll keep it around to fix zippers here and there. It's compact so I can throw it in the closet afterwards. Considering how much junk I have here in this apartment, that was a definte plus. Lack of space is not a pretty thing. Anyhow, the name of this product in discussion is called Easy Sew. Easy Sew the cordless portable sewing machine. Yeah, its one of those ultra-tacky "As seen on TV" items. What's even worst is that supposely this was featured on "The Invention Channel", whatever the hell that is. The Invention Channel? I never heard of that channel before I brought this yet another "made in China" crappola. Ewwwww, I know. Dorky housewife feelings here, but I digress. Attachments include a so-called "professional style foot pedal." Hmm. It runs on either 4 AA batteries or I can waste more electrcity by using the AC adapter. Cool.
Hey, if you know what I'm talking about, drop me a line and tell me your experiences with this thingmagig...did I waste my money or not? I'll give you the update on this contraption later...
