Helen Reeves, 87, died at 10:28 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Jersey Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 23, 1917, in Alton, to Thomas Franklin and Ethel (McCarthy) Keene.

She married Lawrence Edgar Reeves July 11, 1934, in Alton. He died June 27, 1996.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Martha and Charles Baker of Jerseyville; two sons and their wives, Lawrence and Laveeda Reeves of Virden and Walter and Betty Reeves of Roodhouse; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bill Keene and Earl and Barbara Keene, all of Savannah, Tenn., and Tom and Linda Keene of St. Cloud, Minn.; and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Emma Boulyard of Florida, Mabel White of Decatur and Alberta and Leonard Bernaix of Kampsville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Reeves; and two brothers, Thaddeus and Carl Keene.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Alexander and Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Mark Myers will officiate.

Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

Memorials may be made to the Carrollton Lions Club.
