Bio Bill presntly resides in Tennessee but hails from the down east North Carolina town of Belhaven. He moved to Virginia with his parents when he was 6 years old. Bill started playing his first guitar, a Truetone, from Western Auto in January 1964 at the age of 14. During the 60's he played in two garage bands and tailored his sound to the 60's rock and roll of such groups as the Kinks, Mitch Rider, Steppenwolf, and Hendrix to name a few.
Bill's interests in music since then has expanded into blues, new age, and most recently country where he was guitarist for The NewRiver Band out of Washington, North Carolina.
Bill is now playing guitar, manages and runs sound for The RELIC Band playing his first love in music, rock and roll!
Music Bill enjoys nearly all types of music from Blue Grass to hard pounding Grunge. His biggest challenge playing came while playing music with The NewRiver Band. Almost exclusively country, NewRiver gave Bill the opportunity to explore new ways of playing guitar which he mixes in with rock and roll. His cousin, guitar idol, and legend in Eastern North Carolina, Tommy Keech, gave Bill new insight to his playing. Bill remains Tommy's biggest fan! Tommy currently plays lead guitar for NewRiver. |
