Bio
Danny originally hails from Southeastern Virginia and returned to the area in 1999 after living in Rapid City, SD, San Antonio, TX, Myrtle Beach, SC, Belgium, Colorado Springs, Co., Goldsboro, NC and La Grange, NC.

Danny started playing drums and guitar in the mid 60’s learning guitar from his brother and played drums, guitar and sung in garage bands in the late 60’s and early 70’s. He took a number of years off from actually playing out but continued being a part of the music seen by performing DJ stands at local clubs and private parties.

He hung out a while at WKZQ Radio Station in Myrtle Beach, SC in the early 80’s where he met the Country Artist of the Decade, Alabama. In the early 90’s, he got chance to work with his favorite international recording artist .38 Special as well as Brooks and Dunn, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Doc Holiday Band and Nantucket. All during this time, Danny continued writing original material which he hopes to bring to life with The RELIC Band one day.

He started playing again seriously both guitar and drums after returning to Virginia with Bill Linton, also a member of The RELIC Band and played a short stand with The NewRiver Band, a country band based out of Washington, NC.

Since joining The RELIC Band  in May 2002, he has provided energy, versatility, spontaneity and a true image of his nickname, the “Wild Eyed Southern Boy”.

Music
Danny started rocking the Tidewater area in the late 60's with a small garage band who played a couple gigs in his home town. In the 70's, he joined yet another garage band with his high school friends and played for his school and the Masonic Lodge. Being in the high school band in the early 70’s, he was the  one who put the soulful strut in the marching band percussion section by writing a cadence for which the band became noted for in  the area at that time.

He previously competed in the MARS Music Drum Off competition and given a great review from all who watched and competed.

His first love in music is Southern Rock which now can be heard on up beat country radio stations. He  likes classic rock, country rock and blues but is open minded when it comes to all kinds of music. One moment he's listening to AC/DC and the next , Alabama..

Favorite bands and artists include:  His son,
Chris Richardson, an up and coming new artist who is presently writing new materials and doing studio work preparing for a possible recording contract with a major record label, .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchett, Sammy Hagar, ZZ Topp, 3 Doors Down and Nickleback..

Danny enjoys producing, writing, recording, singinig, playing drums and when he gets a chance, playing guitar.

In addition, Danny is a major contributer to the publicity of the band. Visit Danny's
