This was written on December 21, 2001 and is how RELIC began.
Hi Greg, Dang, this is the third e-mail I've tried to send. Both of the ones I sent before the program crashed when I hit submit. Anyway, I've done the form enough now that I remember it by heart. My name is Bill. I live in North Suffolk, about 7 miles from the M&M tunnel. I've been playing guitar since I was in my teens, and like you put it down for many years. About 3 years ago I got interested again and started learning all I could. In September of 2000 I joined my cousins band in eastern North Carolina. We're called The NewRiver Band. We mostly play VFW's and Moose Lodges throughout Eastern Carolina. I've been looking for someone to jam with up here in Virginia. I know that I will burn out from the traveling to Carolina for practices and gigs sooner or later, and I'd like to try to start something up here. I like classic rock, oldies, beach music, jazz, country, folk, southern rock and some bluegrass. I'm not into grunge, or heavy metal type music or rap. I consider myself intermediate on guitar, even though I play in a band. I guess mainly because our lead guitar player is awesome! I play most of the rock leads, dirty country stuff, acoustic and I run the sound from stage for the band. I'm easy to get along with and I'm fully aware that a lot of problems in bands stem from egos. I deal with musical errors just like I would a bad shot on the golf course. You can't let it lay on your mind, but you can't forget what you did wrong either. Otherwise you're likely to mess up again. I'm married, and music is my second career. My wife is very understanding and supports me 100%. My attitude about music is to have fun! Do the best you can, but always have fun! If you're interested in getting together e-mail me and we'll talk. I have the place and equipment to jam when you're ready, or I could go to your place. You can also e-mail me at xxxxxxxx. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Bill |
