Jesse E. Jackson served in the European Theater of WWII.
In his words, "We marched up the boot of Italy, over the Alps and through Hell, dogfaces, all of us!"
Mr. Jackson returned to his home town of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee after the war was over. He's since died and is buried in the town he lived in all his life.
His Granddaughter says, "He lived and died most of his life in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, but somehow I think most of him stayed on those battlefields with the friends he made and lost."
