Ralph M. Hall was born in Fate, Texas, on May 3, 1923. He attended public schools in Rockwall, and graduated from Rockwall High School in 1942.
He joined the U.S. Navy on Dec. 10, 1942, serving as a Lieutenant (senior grade) aircraft carrier pilot from 1942 through 1945. Hall attended Texas Christian University, in Fort Worth, in 1943. He attended the University of Texas, Austin, in 1946-1947, and recieved his LLB from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, in 1951.
He was admitted to the Texas bar in 1951 and maintained a private law practice in Rockwall for many years. He is the former President and CEO of Texas Aluminum Corporation, past General Council of Texas Extrusion Company, past organizer and past Chairman of the Board, and now Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lakeside Bancshares Inc.
In 1944 he married the former Mary Ellen Murphy. They have 3 sons, Hampton, Brett, and Blakeley. Along with 5 grandchildren.
He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representative in 1980, and has been re-elected to each succeeding Congress. Congressman Hall serves as Chairman of the Energy and Air Quality Subcommittee of the powerful Energy and Commerce Committee. He also serves on the Health Subcommittee.
