Unofficial Aiglon Alumni Site
Class of 1976

Please provide information that you would like to share with other Aiglonians/Aiglonites.
This page will not be submitted to any search engine (although google.com will probably find it).  The plan is to circulate the URL (Universal Resource Locator or address) to specific people (i.e. the Aiglon community).  If you are not wanting to share information with everyone who looks at this site,  do not submit it.
To submit information, send an email to
Steve at talkinternational@yahoo.com
This will be a serial site... just one thing after another, no clear organization.....  I'll try to post the most recent stuff at the bottom of the site.  Just scroll down with the bar at the side.  I'll keep photos to a mininum so that the page pops up quickly.

Any comments?  (Pardon the typographical errors)... Send comments to me at talkinternational@yahoo.com

Steve McCrea, '76
NOTE:  John Vornle long ago wanted to have a way of connecting Aiglon entrepreneurs and ideas with resources to make the businesses real.   These web sites can be a start... Just put your idea here and maybe someone will come to you with funding and personnel ready to get your idea to happen...

THIS web page is also used to update each other about what we are up to...  professionally and in our daily lives.  I especially like the kind of news that Amanda Roberts brought (see the next item below).

If you want to have your information posted in a category, click on CATEGORIES OF PROFESSIONS (left) and visit the list of categories.  This is an open site, so who knows who will see this page, but the main idea is to keep this information for Aiglon community to use.    I'm not going to try to publicize this info outside the Aiglon community, but who knows who might visit these pages.  I suggest that you keep the information in a public nature.  Don't reveal that you're working on a secret formula but perhaps you can say that you're looking for partners to help with a project.  You can choose whether to put the professional information under the CLASS page (this page) or under the CATEGORIES OF PROFESSIONS page.  I hope to keep the CATEGORIES page shorter and easier to scan, and then encourage people to jump to the CLASS page for specific information.

Hi,
I’m in Fort Lauderdale, and I’ve collected a dozen associates who can help me with projects.  Here are my latest endeavers:

1.  Publishing
www.mccreamarketing.com
I like to teach people to create a free web site on www.oocities.org
The instruction sheet is
www.oocities.org/countries2001/instruction.html

The practice sheet is on  www.oocities.org
Then you enter the YAHOO ID of myfirstwebpage
Then the password is password

Then you can set up a NEW PAGE (click on the upper left icon)
       Costa Rica, 1994

My plan is to train all of Vornle’s and my sister Wendy’s kids by the end of 2001….

2. www.creatingthefuture.org
Let me introduce you to Jack Latona, an extraordinary attorney, former politician and author.  I’m helping him get his opinions and views on CDs, audio cassettes and in print.  The web page for The Center for Creating the Future is my webbing.  (Yes, I need help)

Look for a conference some day…  about “Creating the Future of Tourism”  etc.

3.  my language school

TALK International
www.talkinusa.com
We (8 friends and I) have a language school owned by teachers (an anomaly in a rather cut-throat business) ... The certificate of CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is a Cambridge University program that has trained about 40,000 people since 1965 in this method of language learning.  Highly recommended!

My school offers a short course in conversation and grammar review, plus the joys of Disney, Key West and Shuttle launches.     Scenes from the school start at
www.oocities.org/talkstudents/tour.html

My sister Wendy (she was at Aiglon for one year, 1974-75) lives in Concord, Mass with three daughters, Jessica, Olivia and Kristen.  Her husband Chuck does my finances and he’s a wizard.
My sister BB is a yoga teacher
My brother Richard lives in Princeton, NJ.

Nino Zamero called from New York area, saying he was making his annual visit to the USA... he'd seen John Dani and he wished everyone well.
"Steve, tell everyone who went to Aiglon that they can visit me, they are always welcome." Okay... He recommends spring as a good time to visit... around April 10 or 20.

=====================================

John Vornle and family occupied a large white mountain in Central Florida
in Nov. 2001 [AHEM,.. MAYBE JUST A LITTLE TOO VAGUE...BUT I HAVE NOTHING TO
SUGGEST].  His 5 kids worked hard to get your secretemporary wet.  Daughter
Stephanie is preparing for college interviews and SAT.

Jennie Gonnet [NE, "HINDE"] continues to operate an art restoration service from her home north of Toulouse.  Daughter Marie aspires (currently) to interior design.

Raymond Merz was Mr. Mom to son Nicholas in January when Judith played hookey with a buddy in the Art Deco district of South Beach (and camped at Chez McCrea ....
She did the right thing -- she called and set up dinner on Las Olas (a standing invitation to class mates who are passing through South Florida).
Raymond adds:
I'd add "wife Judith" to "...in January when Judith played hookey....".  Don't want anyone thinking I've got girlfriends running around the world with kids they can drop off any time they want...

QUESTION ABOUT THE OFFICIAL AIGLON SITE

How do see my existing profile on The Aiglon web site?  I've got to the page where you enter info for the first time but I can't find the page which references existing information on Alumni.
ANSWER:
When you go to www.aiglon.ch, you don't see the alumni page.
When you go to www.aiglon.ch/alumni, then click on KEEP IN TOUCH.

The page reads as follows:

This page is under construction. Please come back soon.
Click here to proceed to password-protected searchable Alumni Contacts database...

That's where you enter the directory and you can find your email contact.  If your email is not listed there, then you can contact Rebecca at alumni@aiglon.ch and give her the info....

In a post 9/11 world, here comes a story read by a classmate: In our lives
we juggle five balls, four made from crystal (health, family, friends and
integrity) and a rubber ball (work).  If you drop one of the four, you are
likely to damage it for life.  If you drop your work, it will bounce back,
perhaps in a different form, but you'll be back.
EXCELLENT.

I don't want to dwell on the events of September -- suffice it to write that I'm more grateful for every moment, every contact, every chance to connect with classmates...and the people I've spoken with feel the same way.  Pick up the phone or send an email to a classmate from years ago.   My email is globalcooling@pstcomputers.com and my home phone is 954 463 0310   My cell is 954 646 8246

I am passing this on to you . . as it is definitely working for me.
I think I have found inner peace.  I read an article that said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish things I had started.
Today I finished two bags of potato chips, a chocolate pie, a
bottle of wine and a small box of chocolate candy.
I feel better already.

Subject: The Deed is Done!
Dear Friends,
Well, the deed is done, and Alena (Lina) and I were officially married last Friday in a short and simple civil ceremony.  We can now start planning the big one.  Many thanks for all your good wishes.

As for the honeymoon, we've had a change of heart and are probably going to opt for the Seychelles (Lemuria Resort, Praslin) instead of Hawai'i.  We looked at Chicago, as you suggested George, but couldn't find a romantic
hotel with a sandy beach and a view of the setting sun!
Life is absolutely frantic at the moment, but I'll let you have more news soon, and maybe even a photo!
All the best,   Peter (and Lina)

Peter:
All of our sandy beaches in Chicago face east, so while you can't see a setting sun you can catch the rising one.  An added bonus is that our  beaches are uncrowded this time of year.
Congratulations and best wishes,  -G

FROM AMANDA Roberts in London  Feb 2002

I wanted to mention that I talked to the Watts the other day and they are fine, although Elizabeth fell on the pavement just before Christmas and cracked her ribs and broke her nose. Roy says she looks as beautiful as ever. Also tomorrow is the begining of the hearing for Richard McDonald. Tuesday through Thursday and they are supposed to hear the results next tuesday. He wrote a very elegant letter on his support page. I can only just barely imagine how it must be. A living nighmare and these next few days will be terrible.

Dear Steve,  Thank you for your email.  It's a bit hard to summarise 25 years into some brief notes, but I'll do my best.  I live in Brighton, and work as a primary school teacher, teaching five and six year olds at the moment.  I am currently single, but sad to say I have been married and
divorced three times.  I have four children, two boys and two girls, who all live with me, and my eldest son Joe is going to be 19 in March, so I think I may win the oldest child competition!  I would love to hear from any old Aiglon contemporaries.  My email address is

make the most of Chicago summertime.  It is amazing, we spend all winter  longing for summer and then it comes and is so hot...  the human condition, I  guess.   Best wishes,  Lisa

Hi again Kevin,
The Football World cup was a very big deal here but its over. If we had won  it  which we came so close you would have witnessed a celebration not common in  this country, for sure !! Yes I also recall that you were buddy buddy with Dehaesleer &co., have you  heard from  him again ? Meanwhile back to the subject, I think, I will omit hotel Dallas and recommend  Prince Hotel because it is as close to the historic sights, as the tram. station is very near there..
I suggest that on your first  evening 17/7  we get together and let me give you my style of the tour !
The next day 18/7 , you take a boat tour of the Bosphorus channel;
On 19/7 you get on the tramway and 5 mins. away are the concentration of historic sites such as the mosques and palaces etc. when in the evening we can  continue my tour. The next day you are free to do what you want-re:
your  guide books- because on 20 /7 I will be going out of town with my girl on a  week's holiday-you are welcome to join us !! The details follow ;
I will be going to Ayvalik- 4-5 hours away from Istanbul , checking in to a  motel by the sea where there will be plenty of sea&shade where I can read my papers to relax, then tour the vicinity , take daily boat tours , to swim in
the little coves &sounds !! How bout it ?
It is close to the Trojan Horse !! like a couple of thousand yeasr old, Re:  Mr Boas Fourh form History classes classroom A1  !!
You can look up on the net:
www. randmcnally.com to find  Turkey map then navigate over to Ayvalik on the nothwest part of the country. I don't have  the exact coordinates presently .
I think we all should have a good time while you all are here. I am very glad of your response and enthusiam. Nino
