My Tangerine is named "Knot Fast" ......I will be working on her a little at a time until nice sailing weather comes next year. I have never sailed, and to this point only know a very limited bit of info that I have picked up from reading.
When my wife and I first drove by and saw that it was for sale .....she guessed the price to be $12,000.00 and I laughed saying she was way high. ......I guessed $5,000.00, and she asked what I would pay for it. Not really wanting a sailboat I said I wouldn't buy it unless it was $3,000.00. Feeling safe with that comment, we went up to enquire. When I was told $1,250.00, I thought to myself" Darn! Now I'm stuck!"....So I then offered $1,000.00 thinking I would be told no and be on my way. Again I was stuck because they said okay. It then occured to me to say, "You'll have to throw in the trailer for that price", being sure I would be told to hit the road now!.....Again I was shocked when they agreed!......So now I said to my wife, I don't know if I can put a hitch on my new Chevy S10....And so off to the car dealer we went. Ah! Finally, " No sir, I am sorry, they do not make one for your year and model".... FINALLY!!!! I'm safe and out of it!...."But sir, you can get an aftermarket one from Auto Zone.".......ell, that did it, I could come up with no more excuses and ended up buying it. Now after some thought, reading, and looking at her I am glad it was "meant to be".....I am excited and look forward to all the joy I know she will bring us. |
