I am a 20 year old junior at the
University
of North Carolina at Pembroke. I am majoring in Political Science
with a concentration in Pre-Law. After I graduate from UNC-Pembroke
in 2003, I plan to receive my Master of Arts and doctorate degrees in Government
from the University of Virginia.
After completing graduate school, I want to work as a Republican campaign
manager at the state and, eventually, the national level. My long
term aspiration, however, is to become a U.S. Senator. Since I am
a student of political science, my research interests are in congressional
theory, southern politics, and voting behavior. My political heroes
are Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Elizabeth Dole.
I am originally from Lewiston-Woodville, North Carolina. While in high school, I was a member of the Beta Club, participated in the Advanced Chorus, and graduated in May 1999 as a honor graduate and North Carolina Scholar. For ten years, I studied tap, ballet, and jazz at the Mountcastle School of Dance in Ahoskie, North Carolina. While my academic studies consume most of my time, I enjoy reading, dancing, and traveling. I am a fan of the Duke Blue Devils (basketball, that is) and the New York Yankees. My favorite places to visit are Colonial Williamsburg and Washington, D.C. |
