Commercial Motor Vehicle Crash with Entrapment and Fire 1/4/07 - At approx. 3:00pm on Thurday afternoon, Station 182, along with Station 181, were dispatched to the intersection of Route 130 and High Hill Road for a report of a SUV, on fire, entrapped underneath of a tractor trailer. After arrival of 1895, comfirmation was given with the exception of entrapment; the patient self-extracated themself from their vehicle. Crews from E-1811 and E-1822 extinguished the blaze. The fire was placed under control shortly after 3:30pm. Crews salvaged and overhauled the wreck and were made avalible around 4:30pm. E-1822 and T-1823 operated on the scene for about an hour and a half. |
Alarm on Heron Drive 1/5/07 - Around 1:00am, Station 182 and Station 181 were dispatched to the 300 Block of Heron Drive for an alarm activation. After arrival of E-1812, crews were sent in to investigate. As per Bridgeport Command (18102), all other incoming apparatus were to be staged on Heron Drive. This included E-1811, R-1828, E-1822, and T-1823. Upon E-1812's investigation, it was determined that the alarm was triggered by a steam cleaner. The Stations were recalled and all units were made avalible shortly after 1:30am. |

Tractor Trailers and Pick-ups collide on I-295 1/8/07 - At 10:45am on Monday morning, Station 182 was dispatched to the area of exit 11 for a report of two tractor trailers and two pick-up trucks collided on Interstate 295. With 1895 on location and R-1828 and E-1811 en route, the squad requested a recall. Station 182 was made avalible at 10:52am. |
HAZMAT at Ferro 1/11/07 - Shortly after 9:00am, R-1828 was requested at the Ferro Plant on Rt. 130 for a reported hazardous materails spill. After the arrival of 1895 and Medics, it was determined that the patient had been splashed with an unknown irritant and was already decontaminated. The Rescue was requested to be recalled and was made avaliable just after 9:30am. |
Brush and Comerical Vehicle fire on I-295 1/12/07 - In the early morning hours, E-1822 responded to the area of exit 13 on I-295 for a report of a small brush fire. After E-1822 and 18202 searched both north and south bound lanes, it was deemed unfounded. The Engine was made avaliable just after 4:20am. Later that day, E-1822 responded to exit 11 on I-295 for a tractor trailer heavily smoking. While the Engine was in route, 18101 recalled the box. The Engine was released from the assignment and returned to quaters around 11:30am. |

MVC followed by Alarm 1/16/07 - At 3:00am on Tuesday morning, R-1828 was dispatched to the milepost 13.6 south bound on I-295 for a reported pedestrian stuck by a vehicle. On arrival, 1828's crew assisted with packaging of patient and provided traffic control and scene lighting. During the duration of the MVC, E-1822 reponded to the 1100 block of Commerce Blvd. for a fire alarm activation. Once on location, E-1822's crew investigate and determined the alarm a malfunction. R-1828 and E-1822 were made avaliable just after 4:00am. Around 3:00pm, R-1828 was dispatched to the 100 Block of Arlington Blvd. for a Water Flow Alarm. After a short investigation, it was found that the alarm was being worked on and the Rescue was made avaliable. |
Tractor Trailer vs. Mini Van and Alarm on Warner Court 1/18/07 - Around 15:30 hours R-1828 was dispatched to the intersection of High Hill Road and Heron Drive for a Commercial MVC. At the time of dispatch, T-1823 had been out driver training, recieved the call, and responded. Upon the arrival of the Tender, 18202 gave an update that a Mini Van had crashed into a tractor trailer and all patients were out of the vehicle. With the squad on location, T-1823 was ordered to Sharptown Road to assist the Police Department with Traffic Control. A short while after, the Tender was released and made avaliable. Later that evening, R-1828 and E-1822 responded to Warner Court for an Water Flow Alarm. Upon arrival and a short investigation, it was found that a sprinkler pipe had ruptured. The Engine and Rescue were avaliable and returned to quaters. Both vehicles operated on the scene for about 45 minutes. |
Motor Vehicle Crash; Route 322/ I-295 and Rubish Fire 1/19/07 - Rescue 1828 was dispatch to the interchange of Route 322 and Interstate 295 for a reported Motor Vehicle Crash. With R-1828 responding and E-1811 on location, 11's crews determined the accident very minor and no fire services were needed. The Rescue was recalled and returned to quaters shortly after dispatch. Later that evening, E-1822 responded to Repaupo Station Road for a reported rubish fire. With 18206 on location, a report was given of a large wood pile was being burned. After the arrival of 18201, the fire was ordered to be extinguished due to the fact that there was no permit for the fire. E-1822's crew extinguished the blaze and returned to quaters shortly after 19:40 hours. |
Tractor Trailer Jack-knifes on I-295 w/ Alarm Activation 1/25/07 - Shortly after 22:00 hours, R-1828 repsonded to the area of Milepost 15.1 for a report of a Tractor Trailer into a guardrail. Upon arrival, crews from the Rescue found a Tractor Trailer jack-knifed on the guardrail with extensive damage. With the driver already out and sitting the State Police, crews assisted with patient care and de-energizeing the Tractor. A county CBRNE representitive was requested by 18202 due the the saddle tanks bursting and a major diesel spill on the highway. During the duration of the call, E-1822 was requested to Pureland Industrial Complex for and Alarm Activation. With the Engine dedicated to scene protection on I-295, Station 18-1 was requested to handle the job alone. Station 182 was made available around 02:00 hours. |
Commerical Vehicle on the Interstate 1/26/07 - At 07:15 hours, Tender 1823 responded to the Route 322 and Interstate I-295 interchange for a reported Commerical Vehicle Fire. With 18102 on location, the report was given that there was no fire and to recall both Station 181 and Station 182. The Tender returned to quaters and was made avaliable at 07:36 hours. |
