The U.D.C. Ladies presented a Plaque to the Cemetery, in Honor
of
Mary Green and her work at the Cemetery.

Chaplain James P. McMullen 42nd. Ala. -Father** 15 May 1864, from
Greene Co., Al. was elected to go forth and labor in the Army of
Gen. Joe Johnston in Jan. 1864, and became the chaplain of the 42nd AL.
Before the Battle of Resaca, Ga. he preached to Baker's Brigade of which the
42nd was part. In that insuing battle both Rev. McMullen and his son,
whom he rushed out onto the battlefield to save, were killed.. They are
buried at Resaca Confederate Cemetery. Rev. McMullen was pastor of
Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Ridge, AL.
Pvt. William F. McMullen Co. B 36th. Ala. - Son** Age 16 at Enlistment
(Greene Co., Ala.)15 May 1864. Killed when unit charged at Union placement
