This was an interesting concert, and not because of the band really either. Well, yes, it was, and no it wasn't. Let me explain. You see origionally I was supposed to go to this show with my friend Natalie, and then I was supposed to go with Erin, and then Ryan and then Evan (Filipovitch), and then they all canceled on me. So, I called McCaire, and she couldn't go, and I called a bunch of other people until I finally got a hold of my friend Jeff over the fence. Jeff almost became RxDrama's new bassist after Trevor left, but it didn't work out due to the fact that Jeff didn't want to haul all of his equipment out to Ramona.. He's pissy like that. No faith in people. Whatever. So, Jeff and I decided to go. We drive down there and sorta get lost looking for the place, because it's behind a building so you have to know where you're going. Well, we found it after busting up laughing a million times, and were happy. I needed my Red Bull and he needed to get gas again before we left to go home, and since we were early, we decided to do that. So, we're at this one gas station and he's getting gas, but they have no Red Bull. I was pissed, so we went to the other gas station down the street to get more Red Bull. We headed back to The Scene and parked in the back and were sitting there drinking Red Bull and laughing and the stupidest things, like how I wanted to sit on top of the building across the way but there was no way to get up there. Maybe I'll take a ladder the next time I go down there.. Hmm.. Anyway, and I was drooling over Weston's car, and Weston told me to get over it. Fair enough, but no. Then, Aaron and Sean showed up and Brant howed up with the equipment. Jeff decided to help them unload, how nice. I would've but I was on such a high from the Red Bull I couldn't hold still.. I would've dropped something. So, The Scene starts letting people in and TwentyOneRest is inside, so Jeff and I decided to head in. All the while there is this girl who he thinks is hott, but won't talk to, so I keep on pushing him toward her. It was actually quite funny. But, then Forever February decided to start playing. Now, mind you I'm very critical about local bands, and I've never heard these guys before, but they were good. They reminded me of Thursday a lot, that whole one guy singing, one guy screaming idea. But, they were good. Little punker kids, it was good. Well, then this really awesome band came on. Wow, they were so good. TwentyOneRest I think thye were called.. LoL. Yea, it was great. They opened with 'Straight Circle', yay! I love that song, and then went into.. I don't remember. I was too out of it that night. I had finals for my psychology class the next day. But, it was good. They played the new stuff as ing 'Lightshow', 'Puddles' and 'Eating Tinfoil', which still kinda gets to me. And, they played 'She Said' and 'Her Way' was the final song. There might've been others in there, and quite possibly there was, but I don't honestly remember. But, prior to them playing they were having this battle with their poster thingie, you know the big black one that hangs behind the stage.. Well, Aaron was setting up equipment and what not, and Weston, Sean and Brant were trying to hang it up. It was really quite funny. They were trying to take a torn off piece of duct tape and stick it to the wall and the poster at the same time. Now, rules about tape, and especially duct tape or gaft tape, you have to stick it to the object you are trying to adhere to something first and then to the surface. So, in all logical sense, they should've stuck the tape to the poster and then the poster to the wall. But, no. As opposed they had Weston stand on Brant's stool and tape it to the wall. It really was quite funny. Other than that, the show itself was really good. They sounded great and performance wise, it was awesome. They were really quite into it, even though there still seemed to be something up, but of course I'm paranoid about a lot of things. Either way, Sean's dreads were beautiful and Brant really is a character to watch on stage. He plays drums while staring at the same spot and his arms flailing.. It's kinda creepy, but it's really cool. Watch it some time if you happen to go and see them live. Very entertaining. After the show I.. Well, Nick showed up. Surprisingly enough enough. He left work, headed down the 805 a few exits and came and saw his best buds band. How sweet. He got his lip pierced too.. That is so hott. But, ahem, anyway. He got tan too.. Not "Samoan tan" as he stated it, but he isn't the same color as his white shirts anymore.. :) Yay for Nick, even though he was one of few people who looked really hott white. Whatever. Ask Danni about it, she'll explain in further detail about this white thing.. It goes with the Wes Borland refference. (In case you've never noticed, Nick looks like Wes from Limp Bizkit.. Wes is hott, thus so is Nick.) Jeff and I left shortly thereafter. Nick said a few words to me, then blew me off. Jeff finally talked to the girl he thought was hott and then she blew him off for the band. Ouch. That was harsh, too. I spoke briefly to Weston, but then he got wrapped up in his girlfriend. No problem, she's a sweetie. Got a hug from Sean and we talked briefly. Brant was wrapped up outside talking to people so he didn't even notice we were leaving. Aaron said hi, then bye, acted interested and walked away. So, Jeff and I decided to just go. We were tired, and didn't really want to stay to see Kimberly Kills. We're mean like that. So, we headed home, and I hung my head out of the window of his truck all of the way up the freeway back home. |
