THE THIRD MAN | ||||||
A fairly obscure rock band who may have only released one single as far as I know (please email and put me straight if this is not the case!). The lead vocalist and main songwriter was Gus Isodore, who played in Phil Lynott's touring band in 1982, and appears on the occasional bootleg recorded from this late period shortly before the great Thin Lizzy frontman died. The only Third Man release I can confirm is a 12" single, featuring the tracks 'Love and Marriage', 'Ruby Ruby' and 'Someone Out To Get Ya', the latter of which was co-written by Isodore with Phil Lynott himself, with Gus providing the lyrics and Lynott the music. The single came out on Enzo Records in 1990, and shows influences such as Thin Lizzy (obviously) as well as Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Fans of hard rock with a blues and soul influence couldn't fail to be disappointed by this obscure single. Isodore also made an appearance at a Phil Lynott tribute concert in 1996 as part of another band called Lone Wolf, but no information is available about this group as far as I can tell. IF YOU LIKE THESE, YOU'LL LIKE THE THIRD MAN: Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple. |
