Administrative
divisions of this country are 14 zones; Mechi, Koshi, Sagarmatha,
Janalkpur, Narayani, Bagmati
Gandaki, Lumbini, Dhaulagiri Rapti, Bheri, Seti, Karnali, Mahakali and
75 districts- districts are mentioned below with he development regions
accordingly. King Birendra divided the entire Kingdom in 4
different development regions Eastern Development Region, Central
Development Region. Western Development Region, Mid-Western Development
Region in 2029 BS (1972) so as to fill the gap between different
parts of the nation by balanced or proportionate development. Eight
years later in 2037(1982), he further divided the nation adding
one more separate development region naming it as far western
development region taking two zones from Mid Western Development region
Seti and Mahakali. And now the entire nation is also divided into
five-development region such as: |

Eastern
Development Region (EDR):
There are three zones Mechi, Koshi, Sagarmatha and 16
districts in EDR. the Head quarter of the EDR is Dhankuta, a hilly
district in Koshi zone. There are 49 constituencies in this region
13, 19, 17 respectively. The total area of this region is
28500 sq/ km.
The
16 districts in EDR are, Mechi: Taplejung, Ilam, Panchthar,Jhapa
Koshi: Morang, Sunsari, Dhankuta, Terhathuim, Bhojpur,
Sagarmatha: Okhalghunga, Udaypur, Khotang, Saptari. and Siraha.

Central
Development Region (CDR):
This region has also three zones Janakpur,Narayani and Bagmati which
has 19 districts. The head quarter of CDR is Kathmandu itself. There
are 65 constituencies 21, 19 25 respectively. The total area of this
CDR is 27000 sq/km.
The
nineteen districts of CDR are ; Janakpur- Dhanusa, Mahottari,
Sarlahi, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Dolakha. Bagmati- Sindhupalhok,
Kabhre, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Nuwakot, Rasuawa, Dhading.
Narayani: Chitwan, Makwanpur, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa

Western
Development Region (WDR):
Western Development has three zones-Gandaki, Lumbini and Dhaulagiri
and 16 districts . There are 43 constituencies 15,
21,7 respectively. The total are of this region is
29000 sqm/km.
The
16 districts of M-WDR are Gandaki-Gorkha, Lamjung, tanahun,
Syangja, Kaski and Manang. Dhaulagiri- Mustang, Magdi,
Parbat, Baglung, Gulmi, Palpa. Lumbini- Nawalparasi,
rupandehi, Kapilbastu and Argakhachi.

Mid-Western
Development Region (M-WDR):
This region has three zones Rapti, Bheri Karnali and 15
districts. There are 30 constituencies 12,13 and 15 respectively.
The total area of W-WDR is 4359 sq/km. The headquarter of
Mid-Western Development Region is Birendranagar, the district
headquarter of Surkhet.
The
following are the 15 districts of W-WDR; Rapti:
Pyuthan, Rolpa, rukum, Slyan, Dang. Bheri- Banke,
Bardiya, Surkhet, Dailekh, Jajarkot. Karnali: Dolpa,
Jumla, Kailali, Mugu, Humla.

Far
Western Development Region (F-WDR):
This region has only two zones Seti and Mahakali which has 9
districts. The headquarter of F-WDR is dipayal. There are 18
constituencies 11, 7 respectively. The total area of this F-WDR is
20000 sq/km.
