A Little General Information About the infamous Joseph II...
God be with you
I was born, in the cradle of Texas liberty and culture, San Antonio, on August 7, 1981 and raised in the small town of Artesia Wells, in the County of La Salle, about 100 miles south of San Antonio and 50 miles north of the Mexican border (population 24). My great-grandfather on my Dad's side was a migrant share-cropper who only settled down on a small Texas ranch very late in life. My grandfather (Willard E.) was the first to become a success at the farming and ranching business and established himself as one of the most respected men in the area. My father, went into the same line of work as owner of the Crisco Land Clearing Company and the +C Ranch. By the age of five I already had plenty of experience at tractor-driving and cattle-working. I even have my own ranch (the J-) but must pay my Dad for grazing since I am still a landless peasant. Truthfully, others run my cattle business for me--people who are actually qualified, thank God.
My most time-consuming occupation is in the line of education, that is to say, being educated, and hopefully educating others. I attend classes at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas with my specialties as history and geography. Like most universities it is a den of liberalism and corruption, but, I struggle on. When not being educated myself I sometimes substitute teach and work as a guest-speaker on the subject of military history. Putting to use my years of membership in the San Antonio Living History Association, I tell the students about the history and tactics of (usually) 18th & 19th Century warfare, most often on the subject of the Texas Revolution. I put my historic collections to use and may show up in the uniform of a Texas revolutionary, a Mexican soldado, a Confederate soldier or an American Tory.
In the realm of politics, I am a conservative monarchist with legitimist leanings. I have supported the G.O.P. in certain elections in the past, and my Grandfather was a longtime member of the Republican National Committee, but I have never been a party member (Democrat nor Republican) and cannot imagine ever doing so in the future. To be blunt, I don't think it makes a great deal of difference who is elected, regarding Democrats & Republicans, as both are more alike than they are different. If we are to ever have real political change in this country, or any other, we must reevaluate our entire political philosophy and the leftist world trend that has been gaining strength ever since the American and French Revolutions. As long as we ignore the government of Christ the King, no administration, Republican or Democrat, will ever be able to improve the welfare of our country.
In my spare time, when I am not writing or studying (whether for class or for fun) I like to read, watch movies (not alot of television), visit the older members of the community and go on long walks around the ranch. In the way of books, some of my favorite pieces of fiction are: Treasure Island, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Neverending Story, The Three Musketeers, Frankenstein, Mutiny on the Bounty, and the Island of Dr Moreau. Most books in my library though are historical in nature, usually military or royal history and biographies. I like a wide variety of films from many genres, and an assortment of music, though my all-time favorite will always be Beethoven. Particularly, Symphony #9, For Elise and the Moonlight Piano Sonata--some of the best music ever written I say.
For an idea of the sort of heroes I admire, take a look at the biographies section. Bossuet, Emperor Charles V, Pope Pius XI, St Joan of Arc, King James II of England, Kaiser Franz Josef I of Austria, Charlemagne, Pope Innocent III, King Charles I of Britain, General Robert E. Lee and Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany all make the list, along with many more. Reading and studying about historical figures can be a great help, sometimes in determining what to do, and sometimes what not to do. I must often go back to historical figures, since the trend of modernism has made present day admirable figures few and far between.
In the way of religion, which is the backbone of this website, I am a Roman Catholic convert, baptized and confirmed by Rev. Father John Van Lare, one of the best priests the Church has ever been blessed with I'm sure. He survived the Nazi occupation of Holland, his native land, was a missionary to Communist China and served as pastor of Sacred Heart church in Cotulla, Texas for 25 years. He is now retired, and I was ever so sad to see him go. He was a invaluable in my conversion, which was a difficult time for me. All of my immediate family are members of the Church of God 7th Day. There really is no doctrine that everyone agree on other than the Seventh day Sabbath. Some celebrate Christmas, others do not. Some keep the Jewish dietary laws, others do not. They don't agree on much, but they do agree that Catholicism is wrong, a fact which has made me rather unpopular as late. Needless to say, out of love and respect for them, I try to avoid the topic when with the folks.
