Our Puritannical Heritage |
God blessed this land in times of old.
Puritans and Pilgrims prospered in the land.
They made a way through
toils and troubles,
But only by God's hand.
They made their exodus
from a world,
Whose methods were to oppress;
To keep them from religious
freedoms.
Hiding from them, a God Who wants to bless.
Not unlike the
Israelites;
Who crossed waters to depart,
And entered into the promised
land,
For a brand new start.
They came across the ocean blue,
A
sort of baptism, if you will.
They were separated from the world,
For a
short time, until...
The world would seek after them,
Luring and
enticing as it went.
Greed was on the world's mind,
Caring not how this
people was spent.
Our forefathers set up a government,
Designed to
fairly treat all men.
But corruption in subsequent leaders' hearts,
Have
had ill effects on all men.
This nation of people would eventually...
Turn away from the one true God,
Shaming themselves in lusts and sin,
And thinking that Christianity is odd.
It is of these, outside His
flock,
That God still wants to come.
Enter into His household, dear
ones,
Be a part of His kingdom.
Hurry, dear children, before it's
too late,
Repent and turn away from your sin.
God, in His longsuffering
mercy,
Bids for you now to enter in.
Enter in by the blood of the
lamb;
The sacrifice that was made for you.
Accept the mercy and grace of
God,
His provisional gift is yours too.
