Give Me the Strength |
Give me the strength to carry
through,
Help me, Lord, to do what I must do.
Give me the courage to face
each task.
This request, Lord, of You I ask.
A forehead of flint, an
unchanging mind;
One in purpose for You, the faithful kind.
A backbone of
steel, bent to the chore;
Adorned in Your armor, ready for war.
I'll
follow You, Lord, I'll go where You go,
Knowing that Satan is a defeated
foe.
I'll trust in You, Lord, my tower of strength,
Knowing that for me,
You went to the utmost length.
You went so far, Lord, You gave Your
all,
Then sent Your Spirit to give me the call.
You then by grace, helped
me to hear,
Your Word then taught me a reverent fear.
The beginning of
wisdom; the fear of the Lord,
You gave me Your Word, the two edged
sword.
You gave me salvation, so I wouldn't die.
I know, Dear Lord, the
time draweth nigh.
You'll come again on that glorious day,
Meeting
Your saints in a spectacular way;
When in the clouds, all eyes shall
see,
The Church of God as it was meant to be.
No more shackles nor
earthly bands,
No more to wander about... in desert lands.
We'll be with
You, forever and ever,
To submit to Satan no more, not ever,
NEVER!
You've anointed my head, Lord, pouring out Your oil;
That I
might be Your servant, faithful and loyal.
You've covered my sins, atonement
is mine,
Through the Blood of Jesus; so precious and
sublime.
