Several officers are trained for the bicycle unit.  They are certified through the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA).

     The officers patrol mainly in the airport
roadways, around the main terminal and in the
public parking areas.

     There are many additional benefits of bicycle
patrols:

        Officers can approach silently on their
        specially designed
Trek and Mercedes Benz

police bicycles.

        Much more ground can be covered on a
        bicycle than on foot.

        Bicycles can go where cars are unable to go.

        Subjects on foot can't generally out-run
        officers on bicycles.

        Costs are less for bicycles than for cars.
