The NEWVISION E-Post issue of Dinossaurios and Museu das Comunicações ( printing in PTE / Euro ) 

In the 20 th December 2000 , a new machine was introduced in Portugal . It was the NEWVISION E-Post 2000 machine and the first one to be instaled was located in the post office of Loja do Cidadão in the city of Viseu .

There are two diferent versions of the E-Post machine : one more simple ( E-Post 2000 ) and another one more elaborated ( E - Post 2000 M ) .

Initialy , the standart values for this new issue were the same of the other SMD/AMIEL issues ( printing in PTE/Euro ) in the 2000 year : 50 ; 85 ; 90 ; 100 ; 140 PTE and the Correio Azul values of 85 ( national ) and 350 ( international ) PTE´s .

However , when the E-Post machine was instaled ( in 20 th December 2000 ) it had some problems and it worked only some hours ( maybe a day ) until the beggining of 2001 .

By that time , new postage rates were introduced and the machine was updated with those new postage rates : 50 ; 90 ; 105 ; 140 PTE and the Correio Azul values of 85 ( national ) and 350 ( international ) PTE´s .

Therefor , as the machine only worked some hours from 20 th December to January 2001 ( when it was updated with the new postage rates ) it is almost impossible to get a set with the 2000 standart values .

The printing of this new E-Post machine is very similar ( but diferent ) to the SMD printing , but there are some interesting diferences .

In this new E-Post issue , the Euro symbol is diferent from the one in the SMD machines : it is higher .

The star character ( * ) is also diferent . In this new E-Post machine this star character is a perfect X , while in the SMD machines it has litle lines in the star extremities .

Another diferent is the machine receipt . In the SMD machines the receipt is printed in a normal white paper and using blue color . In the E-Post machine , the receipt is printed in a termic paper and using blak color .

Anyway , the receipt is very diferent from both machines .

For this issue , no official F.D.C. or souvenir was prepared .

The Newvision E-Post 2000 M machine , was also used in Norway in the beggining of 2002 and a project was made for the Spanish Post in 2002 .

The Newvision company is a sucefull enterprise in the ticket and ATM machines , being refered many times in the portuguese press .
