The INESC APM 2000 machine in Spain

Before the appearence in Portugal , the INESC APM 200 machine was used ( during a short period of time ) in Spain , most concretly in Madrid .

During the years of 1993 and 1994 , the Spanish Post had used several postage labels machines like Klüssendof , IBM , Prosetecnica-Klüssendorf and INESC .

The INESC APM 200 machine was used in the Post Office 53 ( located at Conde de Peñalver , Madrid ) from the 12 th January 1994 until the 11 th February of the same year , wich was the first foreigh use for a postage label machine made in Portugal .

The postage labels used during that period where the Xacobeo 93 labels , and the standart values for this issue were : 18 , 29 , 55 and 65 Ptas ( Spanish Pesetas ) .

The machine allowed the possibility of printing any desired values from the minimum of 14 Ptas. to a maximum value of 999 Ptas .

The printing of these labels from the INESC machine is very similar to the similar ones that where also used in other machines such as the Klüssendof , IBM and Prosetecnica-Klüssendorf that were also used in that test period time , by the Spanish Post .

However , the printing in the INESC machine is made by a dot matrix printer , while in the other machines the printing was made by a mechanical block printing .

This INESC machine also allowed to obtain a receipt ( printed in a white normal paper ) at the time of a purchase .

Althow the printing in the labels is very diferent when comparing the spanish and the other portuguese labels from this INESC machine ) , the receipt is very similar in both situations .
