Homemade Set for Magic: the Gathering

Welcome to the Forgotten Myths set home page! Forgotten Myths is the second set in the Palouranos Block, featuring 165 all-new cards.

Improve the monocolored strategies started with Palouranos with the return of the Infuse and Amity mechanics, plus the all-new Dilute - which turns monocolored spells into colorless threats if you don't want to bother splashing their colors. Plus, you can wield the power of the Chimeras, mythological beasts comprised of different creature parts - which is translated to gameplay by their Bodymerge mechanic. You can also play a single spell more times than it would be fair to during a game with the uncommon cycle of Whistles. And of course, the Militance mechanic is back, making the combat step more interesting.

Forgotten Myths has been designed for playing with Apprentice (download the full patch on the bottom of this page). Please give it a try. If you want someone to play against, drop me a line at ricklongo at gmail dot com.

New Mechanics

Dilute X (You may pay X rather than pay this card's mana cost.)
- After you announce the spell, you decide if you want to play it for its regular mana cost or for its dilute cost.
- If you play a spell for its dilute cost, the spell retain its colors. For example, an Improvised Bolt played for its dilute cost can't hit a Silver Knight, because the Bolt is still red.

Bodymerge [COST] ([COST]: Remove target creature you control from the game. Combine its power, toughness, color, and text box with this card's. Treat all instances of that card's name on its text box as this card's name.)
- Bodymerge is an activated ability that appears only on creatures.
- When a creature "bodymerges" with anotherr creature, the end result is a single creature, with all the rules text, power, toughness, and color of both cards combined. For example, a Chimera of Stealth removing a Serra Angel from the game with its bodymerge ability would result on a 6/6 white and blue unblockable, untargetable creature with flying and vigilance.
- If a creature removed via Bodymerge has ccharacteristic-setting rules text, the resulting creature of the bodymerge will also have this rules text, and that rules text will override any other previous characteristic. For example: if a Chimera of Loyalty bodymerges with a Nightmare, the end result will be a white and black creature with flying, protection from black, protection from red, and power/toughness each equal to the number of swamps you control (the power/toughness characteristic-setting rules text of the nightmare will override the Chimera's previous power and toughness). If later the same Chimera of Loyalty bodymerges with a Multani, Maro Sorcerer, the latter's power/toughness characteristic-setting ability (based on cards on each player's hand) will override the previous characteristic of the card regarding power/toughness (in that case, Nightmare's rules text).
- If a bodymerged creature is removed from the removed-from-the-game zone, its characteristics will stop applying to the card that originally bodymerged with it.
