A marshal and his deputy, who are in the midst of transporting their prisoners to court via a tumbleweed wagon, stop to share camp with trail boss Gil Favor and his sidekick Rowdy Yates. When the prisoners' failed break for freedom leaves the marshal wounded and his deputy killed, Gil and Rowdy must take matters into their own hands.
Incident with an Executioner

Gil and Rowdy encounter a stage coach accident as they drive their cattle north. The displaced passengers join the cattle-drive for a time, but the group appears to be fear-stricken. It seems that they are being stalked by a lone horseman, a professional killer named Jardin, who has yet to name his victim. Dan Duryea guest stars as Jardin.
