Baywatch Description:
This tv show was a drama series about a veteran lifeguard and his crew of young lifeguards with perfect swimsuit-clad bodies and flaring hormones. In addition to the obvious sexuality, they save beachgoers from drowning, return runaways to their loving families, apprehend criminals who take advantage of vacationers, and generally do good deeds.

Baywatch was cancelled by NBC after its first season. After only one season off the air, it was brought back in sydication and swelled to new popularity. It aired in 148 countries on every continent except Antarctica.
The world-wide popularity of Baywatch made David Hasselhoff an international star. It was the most watched show in many countries with its biggest audiences in Germany and Sweden. It also made celebrities out of Pamela Anderson and Anna Nicole Smith.
Pamela Anderson was Playboy's Playmate of the Month in February of 1990 and has appeared 12 times on the cover. She was discovered while attending a Canadian football game and a camera focused on her in the stands. Her first job in the public eye was as a spokesmodel for Labatts beer. Her first claim to fame, however, was on the day she was born. She was the first Canadian born on Canada's Centennial day in 1967 and was referred to in the news as the "Centennial Baby". She obtained U.S. citizenship in April of 2004 but also kept her Canadian citizenship.
