Our Rusty
                                                  This page is for Rusty
A week ago our beautiful Brittany Spanial dog was hit and killed by a van. Only if you love animals can you know how much we miss him.  I am making this page for Rusty but I am making this page mostly for myself. I would like you to get to know our Rusty.

On Christmas of 1995 we went to our daughter Kim and Eds house and there on the floor was a little puppy with a great big red bow. He was so cute but we wondered why they would want another dog. Well it wasn't long before she handed us the dog and said Merry Christmas. We said why would we want a dog. We had recently retired and finally had no animals except for Sam the cat. We planned on traveling and a dog didn't fit into our plans. Kim had taken her horse when she got married and Rick had taken his dog , Jazz, when he moved to the country. Well we took the little guy home and need I say within the first week we loved him.  We loved him even though he tore up 2 pairs of Dicks shoes. Rusty was very picky he didn't chew Dicks old shoes he chewed his $100.00 shoes. Rusty chewed so many things when he was a pup I can't tell you. He would chew the x-mas tree ornaments when we were not home. One year he went around the tree and checked out all the gifts and of all the gifts under the tree he found one that was for our son-in-law Ed--a wallet--well he actually unwrapped it and chewed the wallet. We grew to love our Rusty and even bought a motor home so we could take him with us when we traveled and now he's  gone. No more Rusty laying beside me either on the bed or next to it....No more when one of us ask the other if we want ice cream does a little brown and white face sit up and look at us...no more when Dick says I guess I'll go get the paper does a little guy sit at the door waiting for him to open it. ...no more little guy tormenting the birds squirrells and chipmunks in the yard (I don't think he would know what to do with it if he cought it)....no more bringing a ball or bone for us to throw to him--he very seldom brought it back but he loved to chase it. We are really going to miss our best friend and all I can say is I sure hope they have squirrells in heaven. WE LOVE YOU RUSTY AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS.
THIS WAS SENT TO ME BY ONE OF MY SISTERS.  I HOPE ITS TRUE
                              Rainbow Bridge

Just This Side Of Heaven is a place Called Rainbow Bridge.....

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who are hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart

It has been almost 2 years since we lost our Rusty and the time was right to get another pal.  We looked for quite a while before we found Patti. Need I say she is now boss of the house.  Just a little over 10 lbs, a Jack Russell, but she is still the boss. Patti will not take Rusty's place but has found her own special place in our hearts.
The song playing is "My Buddy"
