General informations
Rizoma is a new bouldering crag in the area of Trikala.
It is located betweeTrikala and Kalambaka (13 Km from Trikala and 12 Km from Kalambaka), and there is great potential for new promblems.
The orientation of most of the blocs is S-SW so the best time to visit the crag is from October to April.
There is a quick and easy approach to the main area because you park your vehicle next to the first blocs.
You can reach the farthest of them by walking for ten minutes.
The type of the rock is sandstone but the grip is not smooth and friendly for the skin.
The promblems are not very high. Most of them are from 3 to 5 meters high. There are some highballs but the ground is flat enough to land safely. One crash pad is sufficient for all the problems.
The shape and quality of the boulders is similar to Bleau's. The majority of the holds are sloppers but there are almost all kinds of holds except for stalactites.
The colors on the marks on the boulders are the same as Bleau's but the symbols are different.
