The Boss Lady--Poohyas
Uriel
Gibor
D'vash
Poohyas is a sweet registered Nubian, six years old. She's the biggest and the best, and she knows it. She helps keep all the other goats  in line. NOBODY crosses Pooh! When she first came to Banot Avraham, she was about as tame as a cornered bobcat. A little love, a little attention, and a lot of oats had her tame in a few weeks. Her name, Poohyas, is Hebrew for "soothed" because of our experiences with "making friends" with her.
She's not the best of milkers, due to her history of abuse before she came to live with us, and she hates the stantion, (she spills the grain EVERYWHERE!) but she has presented us with two pretty good milkers up to date.

Uriel is the man of the barn. He's one of the very first goats to live here, and just a little bit spoiled. He has certain rules that he expects everyone--human or goat to follow--to the "T". Such as, no one goes into his stall without him having something to say about it. He also doesn't like it when I tack up paper sacks on the barn window in the winter to keep the cold out. He tears them right down. I guess he thinks curtains are to girlish. He also does not like to be pushed. If he happens to be in your way, well, you're just out of luck until he makes up his mind to move. Another thing. When he goes into his quarters at night, there had better be hay up in the loft where he can reach it when he jumps up on his stool and reaches over the wall.
Gibor is a registered purebred Nubian. (Uriel's compitition.) He joined our herd in 2003 from the good folks at TLC Goat Farm. His name is Hebrew for "Valient" He has become the proud papa of three kids so far. He is very well behaved and obedient.
D'vash, (Hebrew for honey) is a honey-colored Grade Nubian doe. She is very pretty, and she knows it. She loves people, and has been just a little bit pampered.

Yacar
Yacar (Hebrew for "Precious") was the very first goat ever to set hoof on Banot Avraham. (This picture is a bit out-dated) She isn't registered, but she is a good mother, a pretty good milker, (considering her first year) and a wonderful compaion. She helps her mother, Poohyas, quite a lot in keeping order around the barn. (Them things on the top ain't just for good looks!) She wasn't born here; we bought her when she was about 5-6 months old, but we brought her mother home a few days later...which made her very happy.
