or Development Geologist
SUMMARY
Over
twenty years in oil and gas exploration and development; major company and independent
experience, proven prospect generator, experienced and skilled in detailed
reservoir characterization and petrophysics. Eight years of international experience

EXPERIENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
INDEPENDENT CONSULTING GEOLOGIST-
DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL 1995-
Generating exploration and
exploitation prospects in the Permian Basin; marketing and selling prospect ideas. Projects have included a Wolfcamp/Bone Springs workover, Abo Reef wildcat prospect that was leased, but remains undrilled in Eddy Co.,
Field development and exploitation
geology in Western Siberia, Russia; consulting for Occidental Petroleum's Vanyoganeft
joint venture (35 day rotational; 1996-2002); contributed geologic expertise in
an effort to optimize oil production from two Siberian oil fields which
currently produce over 50,000 BOPD.
The work involved planning new wells, including horizontal wells,
evaluating exploration prospects, recommending completion zones for workovers and new completions, evaluating data from new
drilling and new seismic, and mapping and evaluating more than 35 different
sandstone reservoirs of Cretaceous and Jurassic ages that produce in the field.
Field Evaluations in Russia (CIS); consulting for Harvest Natural
Resources, reviewed Russian government data on a number of undeveloped fields,
mapped the reservoirs and calculated OOIP and reserves, made recommendations
concerning acquisition and field development.
Fields studied have been in
Geologic Consulting in
OXY
Field studies, infill and stepout prospect generation, waterflood
optimization, 2D & 3D seismic interpretation and integration with geology
using sequence stratigraphy; projects were in Midland Basin and Central
Basin Platform areas and included San Andres, Wolfcamp,
Strawn, Devonian, and Ellenberger reservoirs.
Reservoir characterization, petrophysical analysis, modeling , and simulation; studies of the San Andres
reservoir in the South Welch and West Welch field were carried out prior to CO2
flooding of the South Welch Unit.
Reservoir models were input into numerical simulation program in order
to optimize CO2 flood in South Welch Unit and determine economic feasibility of
CO2 flooding the West Welch San Andres Unit.
Helped write a proposal and secure a grant for over 10 million dollars
from the DOE to apply advanced technology to the West Welch Unit.
INDEPENDENT CONSULTING GEOLOGIST,
1988-1990
Generated exploration and exploitation
prospects in the Permian Basin; marketed and sold prospect ideas in northern
MAGNATEX CORP.; Geologist, 1985-1988
Generated exploration and exploitation
prospects in the Permian Basin; regional geologic studies in Midland Basin, Central Basin
Platform and Southeast New Mexico areas led to numerous prospects in reservoirs
including Queen, San Andres, Delaware, Abo, Bone
Springs, Cisco-Canyon, Strawn, Atoka, Morrow, Devonian, and Fusselman
formations. Several prospects were
drilled including one commercial discovery.
CITIES SERVICE CO.; Geologist - Regional
Exploration Geologist, 1978-1985
Supervised Midland/Palo Duro/Dalhart Basin exploration team; directed exploration efforts
of four geologists, performed regional geologic studies, evaluated farmout proposals, recommended lease purchases and seismic
surveys; work of team resulted in several commercial discoveries.
Prospect generation and regional geologic
studies in SE New Mexico;
regional studies focused mainly on Pennsylvanian, Wolfcamp,
and Abo carbonates.
This work led to numerous prospects, lease purchases, seismic surveys
and wildcat wells directly resulting in two commercial discoveries.
