New Years Eve 1974/5 7Tp G Coy 41 Cdo - Paphos, Cyprus - UN Tour. Jog any memories? From what I recall the faces from front left are; 'Rip' (Dryden?), Me (with bottle as usual), Trevour, Tomo, Woody, Pete, Jimmy ( the bar owner - and provider of Nescafe, Kebabs, Dhoby etc), Mustafa (local Turk lad who got us dead mens para boots!), Angus (Chef) Stiggy, Paul & 'Guru' aka 'Smiler' (Jim Lainton?). Those in Cyprus but not in photo included; Lt Burt, Brian Reynolds (l/cpl), Al Starling, Scouse Miles, Al Dunn, Tiny, Cpl Bill Corbett (later killed by friendly fire at Musgrave Park NI I believe), Baz, Shotgun, Geordie, Russ Self, Jack (Cpl) - Carruthers the cat and Rosa the dog. For anyone there and interested, I found the villa in Paphos a couple of years ago. Not only are the bullet holes and that garage (then Jimmy's Bar) still there - but I even found Jimmy's old bar-b-que kebab stand and the dart board in the garage. Ray Faulkner |

Remember this little bugger? Gus Honeybun..............A childrens pal on 'Westward' TV who regulary did 'BunnyHops', one for each year of your age. I think I'm right in saying more Bootnecks got 'Bunny Hops' than the poor kiddies. Proberbly got more Bootneck oppes than anyone else!!! VIVA GUS |
