Sergeant Major Theall died of natural causes in December 1998 at his home in Crystal Beach TX.
Jack was a public and command information sergeant major in the U.S. Army.
During World War II he held a reserve commission as a captain. He commanded an infantry company during the invasion of Germany. Jack proudly displays the Combat Infantry Badge, the only award he ever bragged about. His favorite march was The Washington Post March.
He is survived by his wife Gladys, and his daughters Jackie, Mary, Kathy and Barbara.
Among his many friends and admirers was the little boy who lived next door at Fort Harrison who thought he could walk on water.
