In this key scene, we find out who Anna really is and Robert's flashbacks of their past begin from this point on.  Robert meets Anna at the PC Grill after getting Holly out of a New York jail after she was found with a stolen jade buddha in her possession.

Robert: (sits down at her table) So, did you frame my wife?

Anna: Whatever are you talking about, Robert?

Robert: Don't give me that wide eyed innocent look.  I don't buy it.

Anna: If there's any look on my face at all, it's out of surprise.

Robert: Surprise because I tweaked this little frame up so quickly.

Anna: No.  Because you'd think it at all.  I mean, why would I want to frame Holly?  Especially after she's been so kind to me?

Robert: Why do you want to do anything?  Money, malice, jealousy?

Anna: I don't have to listen to this.  (she gets up to leave, but Robert grabs her arm)

Robert: You'll listen and you'll answer.

Anna: (sits down) Look, I didn't frame Holly.  Though I know that she was framed.

Robert: Why do you say that?

Anna: Well, the papers don't give any details, but just knowing Holly a little bit and using my own powers of deduction, what else could it be?

Robert: You set it up.  You and Slater.

Anna: (angry, talking through her teeth) I've told you.  I don't know anyone called Slater.

Robert: In that case, he used another name.  I have a picture.

Anna: It won't do any good, Robert.  I wouldn't know Slater if I fell over him.

Robert: I don't believe you.

Anna: That's your prerogative.

Robert: I'll say it again- you set it up and you're behind it.

Anna: And I'll say it again this again- why would I want to frame Holly?  (A waiter comes over to their table with a bottle and two glasses)

Robert: What's this?

Waiter: Your wife ordered champagne.

(Robert suddenly sees a barrage of memories involving Anna from his past and they flash quickly through his head)

Robert: I don't want any champagne.

Anna: I do.  I thought you might appreciate it so I asked the waiter on my way in.

Robert: Why?

Anna: (raises her glass)  Well, a wife never forgets her husband's favorite champagne.  (she smiles)

Robert: (he leans in closer to threaten) Ex-wife.  Stay away from my present one.
