After the wedding... Robert carries Anna over the threshold of a hotel room in the village. They kiss lingeringly and happily.
Robert: Welcome home, Mrs. Scorpio. Anna: (smiling) Look! (She points to a small cake on the table) Isn't that pretty? Robert: (staring at her) I'll say. (She looks up at him and they kiss again until Anna stops him) Anna: Wait. Robert: Hmm. For what? (Anna finds a candle) Come on, we don't need any light. I know where everything is. (She laughs at his teasing. They come together by the table and he puts his arm around her) Anna: (lighting the candle) It's an old Scottish tradition. Robert: Making love by the candle light? Anna: No. It's to bring luck for the bride and groom. Robert: Oh. Anna: We both blow out the candle together. Robert: Yeah? Anna: And we wish for a long and happy life together. Robert: We're gonna have that, candle or no candle. (They kiss) Anna: Don't mess with tradition. Especially Scottish. Robert: If you say so. (They blow out the candle together and kiss, then he looks at her with those intense eyes) There never was a more beautiful bride than my Anna. (another kiss) Anna: Oh, I love you so much Robert. Robert: And I love you. My God, do I love you. |
