Hi to all the new members of the list and to any new member who may join soon. My name is William Armstrong and I was born in Barre, Vermont 56 years ago in October. My family moved to Rhode Island in l949 and I have lived here ever since. I visit Vermont in the summer for a week or two whenever I can. In the early l950's, which were my formative years, the things that impacted me were the George Reeves Adventures of Superman show in l953, the Sci-fi movie Invaders From Mars, Abbott and Costello movies, Fess Parker as Davy Crockett, shows like Sky King, Sgt. Preston, Captain Midnight, Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, Fury, Lone Ranger, Wild Bill Hickock, Range Rider and Yancy Derringer with Jock Mahoney, Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers, Jim Bowie with Scott Forbes, Richard Greene as Robin Hood, Johnny Jupiter, etc. Movies like The Werewolf with the late Steven Ritch (from Providence, R.I.) and I Was A Teenage Werewolf, Horror of Dracula with Chris Lee followed. Also my father had been a big Tarzan fan, and Gordon Scott in Tarzan and The Lost Safari (1st Tarzan in color) was my introduction to that character. Besides Guy and George Reeves, Gordon is also a top favorite of mine. Guy appeared as Zorro and I was hooked on that. I collected the gum cards, comics, toys, etc. back then on Zorro, Crockett, Superman, etc. Other things I have enjoyed over the years are Elvis movies (even saw Elvis in person twice when he performed in Rhode Island with my sister, a big Elvis fan), The Beaatles (who I was lucky enough to see in person in l965), Led Zeppelin (saw them in person also), what you might call "oldies but goodies" songs on the radio, the British TV shows The Avengers, New Avengers, Blake's 7, Dr. Who, Space l999, Mighty Mouse cartoons, collecting comics and monster magazines, Superman toys. I have a Superman costume I had made in l976 (the one I'm pictured in above), and a Batman costume (my late Uncle was a big Batman fan and he got me interested in comics). I'm also a fan of Xena, Hercules, Buff, the Vampore Slayer TV show. I am single, mostly due to a tragedy that happened years ago (my girlfriend died in a car accident). Suffice it to say, I was delighted when Disney Channel added Zorro to their lineup. I have all the B&W episodes (including the hour shows) on video. As a Zorro fan, I have seen all versions of Zorro and Guy is my favorite. I enjoy seeing other actors portray Zorro, and although I enjoyed Duncan Rehger's and Antonio Banderas version, they fail to come close to Guy's outstanding performance in the dual role. I currently work for a temporary company and sometimes find myself not working for weeks at a time so I have to sell things on ebay to help pay the bills. I bought webtv last year and a computer early this year. I have a website about the teenage monsters I grew up with and am working on a Superman and Hammer Films site now. I have bookmarked the Bill Cotter, Mary Spooner, and many other favorite sites. Well, I'll leave it at that for now. If anyone has any questions, I'll be glad to answer them. William Willie Werewolf signing off. If the full moon's out tonight, beware! I might visit you in person for a quick "snack"!!!
