MaryAnn T. Beverly - co-moderator of our wonderful group. MaryAnn has put together two wonderful fanfic books by many of our members in remberance of Guy Williams. | MBeve10258@aol.com | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I was born and raised in Ohio but spent my adult life migrating south. I have been in South Carolina for twenty-two years, and I love it here. My husband, Mark, is a high school English teacher. We have two sons, Isaac and David. We have one grandchild, Isaac's daughter, Brittany. Our daughter-in-law is Katrina. I used to teach high school English, but now I only do things that interest me and at which I have fun. I write, make documentary movies, and am involved in all things Zorro. Co-moderating the GWFriendslist and publishing the Zorro fan fiction books are especially dear to my heart. I have loved Guy and Zorro since I was five years old. Having him as part of my daily life even now seems normal, natural, and the way it should be. It was from him that I learned many of life's most important lessons, and few others have impacted my life the way he has. |

My name is Jill (actually Gilda, soft g) Panvini, and I am 52 years old. I was born in the first wave of the Post-War Baby Boom. In my family, I am the oldest of 6 children. I have 4 brothers and one sister. I have never married. Of my siblings, only my brother Lorenzo ever married and it only lasted 6 months. Not that I wish to give the impression that we were a dysfunctional family because.all families are to a certain extent. However, I think, the real reason is that our wonderful parents had such a hard life bringing us up that none of us wanted to go through the same things ourselves. In spite of that I have two little nieces now. We moved around a lot looking for a place where Mommy would not get asthma and Daddy could find work. I never really felt roots to any community except that I long to live in Florida again where I spent 6 years as a child. When I was 11 in l957, Zorro came on the air. My Aunt Azella knew all about Zorro. In fact, besides being my godmother (Madrinita), she was my guru to the history of cinema. Azella loved Tyrone Power; she did not think much of Guy's fencing but she was glued to the TV along with me when Zorro came on every week. I wish she were alive now to see just how beautiful Guy is in color. Stand aside, Tyrone. All those handsome men -- all very romantic. After Zorro left the air in l960, I tried to find any movie of Zorro with Guy Williams in it that I could find. We didn't have VCR's in those days. I had to retain my memories of how wonderful a man Zorro was. The role on Lost in Space was so different, and without his mustache Guy looked so changed, I could not stand watching him. Although I still had my affection for my Zorro, little by little, as the years passed I forgot Guy Williams. |
