| Ok, I know everyone who comes here is not a Christian, but hear me out anyway. Christ died and raised again so we could live forever. He took our sins upon him and paid the debt we owed for them. He set us free. He unlocked our chains that bound us to sin and we have only to throw them off. You feel a slave to cutting do you not? You feel that now it controls you and you can't live without it. Those are lies straight from satan. You can be free from through Christ. Romans 8:1-4 says: "There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of human flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." I know it may be a bit hard to understand, but what it means is that those who have accepted Christ have life and no longer are chained to their sin. We are free from it and when I am tempted to cut I can remember that. I don't have to do it and neither do you. Romans 6: 6-7 says: "knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin: for he who has died is freed from sin." Our old self is our sin nature that was bound to sin and death. He took that upon him when he was crucified and it died with him. It is dead and we are free. All we must do is accept the free gift of grace he gives us and believe he died to do this for us. He set me free from the lies and cutting and he loves you enough to do it for you as well. |
