The group has just returned from a job well done and are looking forward to a good rest. However, starting the same day the group returns, a supernatural monster begins a reign of terror -- either a were if an open country area (village) or a vampire if a city. Very soon everyone starts to eye the group in an uncomfortable way. Obviously the group will have to either run for it or hunt down the beast(s). This could be a fun time to rid the party of an overuseful NPC.
