Station Logos From The Tampa Tribune's
"TV Marquee" (1970-1982)

During TV Marquee's run, instead of merely providing a list of TV stations in the immediate Tampa Bay area, it also presented its accompanying logos, for easier identification.

(Logos are copyrighted by WEDU, Media General Television, Gannett, Fox Television Stations, University of South Florida & Viacom, respectively.)

Comparing with the logos (above), all but channel 3's logo have changed during the 12-year period (8, 13 & 16 changed twice; 10 three times, 44 once); channel 3 had the same logo since 1970 (it was first used in the mid-1960s, and retired around 1984(?)).

Note Regarding WLCY's Logo:

Note that channel 10's logo from 1966 to 1976 normally has an ABC logo inside the zero, like this:

And channel 10's logo during 1977 (the last one as WLCY) looks like this:

Note regarding WTOG's Logo:

Channel 44's logo was basically used (with slight design changes and additions) from 1970 to 1996. This is probably the longest-lasting TV station logo in the Tampa Bay market.

TV Ads From The Tampa Tribune:

These ads, all involving WLCY (10), were taken either from the Tribune's daily TV page, TV Marquee, or its related TV magazines.

WLCY (9/1/1965): ABC comes to channel 10.

WLCY (1976): 90 minutes of news (including ABC's 30-minute newscast at 6PM); apparently, all the news in the world.

WLCY (1977): "Rebel Without A Cause" featured on "Dialing For Dollars".
