| ================= Scouring Fleece ================= § My tried and true (as a spinner of greasy fleece of many years) is: o 1 cup washing up detergent o 1/2 cup washing soda o 1/2 cup cloudy ammonia. Use some hot water to dissolve soda, add detergent and ammonia. To use, add to hottest possible water, immerse whole fleece and leave 7 minutes (and 7 only). Rinse, rinse again. In last rinse add 1/2 white vinegar to neutralise the fibre. Dries soft, clean and with less smell than the commercial scourers. Just remember to make up the mixture with good ventilation as the ammonia smell is intrusive, to say the least. Val Krebet ---------- § |
