Isabella Macdonald Alden was Grace Livingston Hill's aunt. (She was Grace's mother's sister) She surprised Grace, by publishing Grace's first book, when Grace was 12. I know very little about Isabella Alden, since I haven't read any of her books yet, but you can find out more about her at the links below, and a few of her books can be read online. Isabella wrote over 100 books under the pen name "Pansy" and her books were known as the Pansy books. She also edited and published The Pansy, a weekly children's paper from 1874-1896.
