AKIRA
PlayStation: Digimon World 2

About Akira

Akira is the 11 year old character who appears in the Digimon world 2. From what is known, Akira was born and raised in the Digital world in a large futuristic colony of Digital Humans. The colony he lived in is called "Digital City" located on the continent of Directory. The Humans living in the Digital world face a lot of danger from the opposing Digimon who think Humans don't belong in the Digital World. So over the years, the inhabitance of the Human Settlements formed the Guard Tamer Teams, which are teams of Tamers and Digimon who are highly trained to battle other Digimon to help protect the settlements.

The DW2 game starts off with Akira meeting with Cecilia and Zudokorn preparing to do his final mission of Training before being admitted as an Official Guard Tamer. Akira, it seemed, was very determined to become a Guard tamer "Like he had always dreamed" According to the actual story line, after completing his final mission, Akira joined the Data, Blue Hawks/Silver Cross Guard Tamer team, though in the game you choose which team he would join out of the 3 attribute choices. Afterwards, the team leader gives Akira a Rookie partner Digimon (depending on which team he joins) and makes Akira an official Guard Tamer. The Team leader then gives Akira the task of getting his Digibeetle as well as more Digimon for his team.
All of a sudden, a mysterious rebellion starts up, involving former tamers and other Humans Lead by General Crimson and Commander Damien who call themselves the "Blood Knights". A Terrorist group that says that Humans can live without Digimon and start attacking the Digimon Settlements and any Human who says otherwise. The Guard Tamers are called into action, trying their best to protect the Digimon, and themselves, and trying to defeat the "Blood Knights" General Crimson, so impressed by Akira's talents as a Tamer for such a young age, himself confronts Akira and tries to get him to join the Blood Knights. Akira refuses. When he does this, Crimson gathers Commander Damien and other Blood Knights to attack Digital City, Akira's Home settlement. But with a tip-off from another Guard Tamer Esteena, Akira is able to capture the Blood Knights and interrogate them. Commander Damien does something strange, and begs Akira to rescue Crimson from whatever was controlling him. With the information they got from the interrogations, the Guard Tamers were able to defeat the Blood Knights at last, but Crimson wasn't among the captured.

Akira journeys to the Continent of Server to try and find Crimson. There he finds that the thing that was controlling him was the evil Entity GAIA. He also finds that Crimson transformed into a powerful Digimon called Neo Crimson by joining together with the Chaos Lords, Leaders of the Evil bands of Digimon (Think Bio-Merge, only on a much larger scale). It was there that Akira realized that Crimson and the other Blood Knights were being controlled by GAIA and the Chaos Lords in an attempt to wipe out the Humans and the Human Digimon supporters , by turning a Human army against them. Now they were ready to finish the job themselves. Akira then seeks help and strength from the Digital programs that watch over Digital City and all Guard Tamers. He eventually defeats Neo Crimson and GAIA and saves the world.

Akira's family is unknown, but I'm betting he had/has parents who were once Guard Tamers, or has older siblings for him to look up to. There are about 2 girls interested in him (lucky guy?) One is Kim, the Guard Tamer mechanic who makes Akira take her out on a date after the battle with GAIA (laughs out loud) and another girl Esteena, a Guard Tamer who tips off Akira and the Digital City Guard Tamers about Commander Damien's planned attack.

Now, Akira is a bit of an oddity. In the official Pics I got of him, it clearly showed his Hair a dark blonde, but in the game, his hair is so clearly bright red. Oh well, the animators might have made a mistake, or decided to change some colors like they did with the Characters of "Frontier" He is also the first/only Caucasian Goggle Boy, and the first to be wearing his goggles over some sort of head gear. (In this case, a Bandana)
