"I heard your music. I have to say that you
defintely have a unique style. I was impressed by your feel and sound.
Keep up the good work."
Ronny Jordan (Outstanding
Jazz Guitarist, England)

Sergey's first appearance on the stage, face to face
with the audience took place in October 1996. In spite of the fact that
he had been playing the guitar for 2 years only, that concert had an
indelible impression and the witnesses recollect it as a bright flash on
the background of the "Russian Bluesmen".
|
He has been taking part in different projects for 3
years, tries to gather his own group, but he always runs into the thing
under the word "blues" which rather means "soft hard rock" with russian
musicians.
"You are one of the best blues guitar player I've heard from Europe !!! Congratulations!!!
Thanks again for keeping the blues alive."
Gustavo Rozenberg "Good Time Blues radio program" (Argentina)

Having decided to take the other road Sergey gathers
a group of very young musicians and tries to teach them play the Blues
through the prism of his own understanding of the theme.
Jam with Paul Lamb
After years' rehearsals there appeared in Moscow the
group "UPFRONT" which became at once very popular with the fans (amateurs)
of this kind of music. The listeners noted unanimously his playing as
the mixture of the styles of Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, B.B.King and
Freddie King. Soon after Sergey began to appear in TV and radio
programmes, he received some offers to work as a soloist in pop projects
but he refused because he believes that "Music comes from the heart but
not on the wallet!"
"I really like the versions of Stray Dog that you fellas did.
In fact, I didn't have any music for the lyrics until I heard
one of the versions that Labyrinth recorded, and the chorus of that
one stuck in my mind and Inspired my version!
I'm really enjoying your CD, you are a superb blues guitarist,To my ears."
Tony Whetstone (USA) |
Unfortunately the young musicians couldn't stand the
fast success and he had to make some substitutions spontaneously. But
the new musicians in group were not well skilled in moral. And
nevertheless the group took part in the first Moscow Festival "BLUES
SUMMIT 2000", where it was given high marks by foreign guests. The group
also had concerts on radio and TV.
Blues Summit 2000
These days Sergey is getting several offers from the
USA about the recording of his new album but with the agreement of the
complete substitution of the accompaning group.
Not satisfied with the level of the moscow musicians
Sergey dismisses the group and after a short period of time he records (with
a session musicians) PROMO ALBUM with blues cover - versions in an
independent studio. Second album was succesfully too. Many radiostations broadcasted new songs. BLUES MATTERS magazine published very good review for the album. Nowadays Sergey is working for new records.
