Boise, ID - The Idaho Steelheads announced Friday the signing of 25-year old right wing Adam Copeland for the 2001-02 season.

"Adam Copeland is a great kid with a great deal of potential", said John Olver, Steelheads Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations. "He has good size and can put the puck in the net. He has had good professional experience in the AHL and the ECHL which will help our team."

Originally from St. Catherines, Ontario the 6-1, 204 lb. Copeland played for Miami University (Ohio) for four years before joining teams in both the AHL and ECHL. Copeland was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in round 4 (#79 overall) of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Last season, Copeland tallied 26 goals and 21 assists for the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks of the ECHL.

"I'm really excited about this season. I've heard a lot of great things about the Steelheads, the facilities and Boise," Copeland stated. "I think this will be a great year."
