Seven Minute Spring stands in modern metal sculpted
surround in a small landscaped park on El Paso Boulevard. Next to
it is a traditional wooden pavilion, a replica of the one that held fashionable
soda spring socials at the beginning of the century.
The Seven Minute Spring was originally drilled
in 1909 to enhance the park of a large hotel. Carbonation caused it to
erupt at seven minute intervals but unfortunately when
the spring was redrilled in the 1990s the spring
lost its seven minute character and it is now a very steady flow of pleasant
tasting water.

Update January 2001
Seven Minute was in a minority of springs still
flowing on this warm winter day.
