"Steve is willing to go the extra mile for you." Dottie Jensen

Simple and bold, is what this automobile was called when it was first introduced.  The STS line is about power and technology.  This is a car with muscle, yet some how agile featuring a computer system that is the most advanced anywhere.  Precise steering control for all weather performance and all-speed traction control that makes driving exhilarating, not frightening. Standard is the computer-controlled stability enhancement system It is Rear Wheel Drive. For 2006 the car features 4 new colors: Stealth Gray (very pretty), Radiant Bronz, Blackberry and Infrared, Gone are Red Line (I liked this color) Moonstone, and Silver Green.

It's short comings are smaller inside, Much smaller trunk, and the trunk really suffered from the previous model. The dash comes down too far into the shins. Even though it has a longer wheelbase, I wonder where the room went. It is really short on back seat space. Cadillac would be better suited to add an extra 2 inches in back seat room. However, if you rarely have anyone in the back, it is a wonderful car.
The new STS will get its power from either a 3.6-liter V-6 engine or the 4.6-liter Northstar V-8. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is an option. A high-performance V-Series version will follow, perhaps this year. The new STS was first shown in the "flesh" at April's New York auto show and went on sale in the third quarter of this year.
The STS is intended to provide momentum, but there's plenty of work to do. The "standard of the world." is much more growth is possible? Yes, and more than some might expect. At its peak, two decades ago, Cadillac was hell-bent to push sales as far as they could go. That move caused some quality problems that hurt and diluted the image - and eventually led to a softer demand, with Cadillac sales slipping behind import rival Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexus. The goal, according to LaNeve, is to rebuild that sense of exclusivity, even if that means holding sales down to no more than around 240,000 units a year in the U.S.
After a series of setbacks and delays, Cadillac is finally making a serious move on overseas markets. It has a new dealer network set to grow across Europe. And there are serious opportunities in China, is the third largest market for BMW's big 7-Series.
China could prove an especially good market for the ultra-luxury car now under development. It's based on the Cadillac Sixteen concept vehicle that proved the big hit of the 2003 North American International Auto Show. A production version likely won't have the big V-16 shown in that prototype, but insiders hint a V-12 is likely. While there's no formally approved program, LaNeve is confident a super-lux Caddy will reach market "in some reasonable timeframe after 2007."

Has anyone mentioned seats? The Seville presents a roomy cockpit with leather seating areas, power adjustments and four-way lumbar support.  These are programmable and with the memory features allow the driver to tailor the car to his or her individual size. The STS features perforated leather inserts for the utmost comfort. These are heated for those cool mornings. However the shoulder room is a bit tight.

Seville's 4.6 liter Northstar V8 shares passion and inspiration with the race-version V8 used in the Northstar LMP.  Each engine uses lightweight aluminum blocks and cylinder head castings, four-valve combustion chambers, chain-driven overhead camshafts, and electronic engine management.  This engine delivers an instantaneous response to the drivers input.

Shell Joins Clean Fuel Program
The Kansas City Star

December 23, 2004

Shell gasoline is the latest to meet a new fuel standard meant to ensure that engine parts are kept clean.

The voluntary standard, called Top Tier, is being pushed by the automakers BMW, Honda, Toyota and General Motors over concerns about an overall decline of cleaning additives in gasoline in the last several years. The automakers say that that has led to more vehicles with fouled engines, which harm performance and fuel economy. Read more.
