Sigma Alpha Iota is an International Music Fraternity. It was founded on June 12, 1903 at the University School of Music in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The fraternity consists of chapters of women college students and alumnae who have a sincere interest in music.
Eta Tau Chapter is located at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Eta Tau Chapter was formed in 1991 when the school was known as Shepherd College. Eta Tau is part of the Iota A Province of Sigma Alpha Iota which includes areas of West Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia.
As of September, 2003, the national membership includes 99,462 initiated members, 204 active college chapters and 116 alumnae chapters throughout the United States. |
